A Volcanic Scape, Exploration Nº02

The result of this exploration concludes with a limited serie of hand-painted experimental prints which are done with natural ink made from the cactus fruit "tuno", from the cactus "tunera", an abundant resource on the island. There are many wild cactus in Lanzarote's countryside, as well as the canarian archipelago in general. Most of the fruit is wasted because no one picks it. The fruit becomes too ripe and falls off. Many birds and animals survive off them but others end up being dried under the Canarian sun. This wasted percentage was collected during the trip to be used as ink afterwards at the studio.
